If you ever looked at the weight loss ticker to the right of the blog, you have noticed that it hasn't changed lately. I have been going to Curves about twice a week for the past month+. I finally got my print out from last week's weigh in. As you can see, I gained one pound; however I lost 1% body fat. The rest of the results are mixed as well. I lost a little here and gained a little there for a total average loss of 1". (I'm most excited by the 1.5" lost at my waist!)
Today I started with my Curves Smart card. This card (among other things) tracks my progress, shows the amount of calories burned per workout, and sets the difficulty of the machines for each individual person.
After taking a couple of years off, my first workout in March was a doozy! I had gotten back into a groove until today. The Curves Smart program is set you kick your butt every time you work out. But it also claims to help you get into shape 19% faster. I'm looking forward to that! It should be an interesting journey. Keep watching the ticker to see if I can manage to make any changes from month to month!

Don't worry at all about the 1-pound gain. The same thing happened to me during one of my previous get-in-shape endeavors. The waist measurements will make you feel a lot better -- if you need extra encouragement, measure your hips, biceps, and thighs. I remember big changes in those fairly quickly.
Good job so far! I have always been interested in trying Curves, so you'll have to keep us posted on whether you like it or not.
Alright. We all know I aint so learned at the math stuff....but.... you needed to lose 57 lbs, you gained 1 lb, and now you need to lose 64 lbs? I'm confused. Good luck! LS
Okay, let me clarify a little. When I first put up the ticker I used the weight I got at home. Yesterday when I updated it, I changed my starting weight to what Curves had for me at the beginning. And since those "doctor type" scales always weigh more, Curves has me 6 pounds heavier. So your math wasn't wrong at all!
Curves does measure all of those areas. I lost in some and gained in some. I'm pretty sure that "woman hormones" had an effect on some of those gains; but oh well!
Thanks for the encouragement!
