Interview day finally came yesterday. Some of you may know that I have applied for the open Assistant Director of Residential Life position in our department. I applied about two months ago and my screening interview was about a month ago. Friday was the big all day interview.
Mary and I are really hoping that I get this one. If I do, we get to move off campus and start looking at buying a house. But, enough about that so as not to jinx it. Truth be told, I’m putting my odds at less than 50%. I got to meet two of the other three candidates and they are quality candidates. Nonetheless, when it comes to interviewing, I’m one of those people who is either on my game or off. Fortunately, I had my A+ game on all day. It’s probably the first interview that I don’t have a single thought of, “Oh, I wish I hadn’t said that” and I think I got everything across that I wanted to say. I haven’t thought of one thing I forgot to mention. So… now we just cross our fingers and wait. Our last candidate comes on Wednesday and things should move pretty quickly after that.
On the bright side, if I don’t get the position, I truly love what I’m doing now and would be more than happy to continue in that roll. But, I’m ready for the new responsibilities and eager to get started. Mary and I are ready to be off campus and I think we’re both pretty happy in Maryville for the foreseeable future. She has a great job as well and neither of us is ready to let that go.
Cross your fingers for us! We should know in a little over a week (I hope!).

Did you forget about the "Murphy's Law likes to kick me in the a#%" conversation????
The title alone has jinxed us! :o)
Everyone, PLEASE cross all metacarpals and metatarsals on this one!! (Kate and Sara--we have freakishly long toes. I know you guys can do it.)
Best wishes! I'll say a prayer for you. Anita
Hey, I just managed to figure out how to do a big toe up, crossing them is a little beyond me right now, but Sara on the other foot...
Also, so when will that BBQ be again? LOL
